Or the arranged marriage don't ask why I would find her offing herself interesting but it would be a balsy move for a family show. Her having a fiancée would also be cool I'd like to see how that would've played out. Her being a guy originally I knew about but the relationship between her and Zuko was the same regardless of age or gender.

I think that suicide one is interesting too, but I love her too much to want it to be true. I would have loved to see her get an arranged marriage, it'd be cool to see how it would have worked out--maybe they'd hate each other maybe they'd actually grow to love each other. I agree with that last one, the only thing that would have changed is her age and her gender.

It's just so interesting, dark, and twisted. Like Alchemistlover said, it is a family show so of course they'd probably never do it. I also like the marriage one.

That's probably the only reason they didn't do it. However they got ballsy with Korra when they killed Tarrlock killed himself.

I wrote a fic in which her son's name was Ash. I feel like if she had a daughter it would be something like Azula II or Zula, basically a daughter named after her. xP

^suicide isn't always overlooked in family shows. A lot of the times the villains have the choice wether to be saved by a hero and don't take it, I consider that suicide. Examples are: Zhao in season 1 although he didn't die if you watch Korra before season 2 of that we thought he did and Zira from the lion king 2. As Zannie said Tarrlock blew up the boat he and Amon were in which is the balsiest thing I think these writers were able to get away with.

I'm honestly surprised that they let Bryke get away with the Tarrlock thing.

Killing herself would have been too cruel and dark , not for a kids show >_< even she didn't deserve such fate , and having an arranged marriage sounds way more interesting and the older brother thing would have totally ruined the whole Azula Zuko relationship , i like her more as female

Whilst I do agree, it would have been dark and cruel and I probably would have cried. But I do think it would have been interesting. I know they got away with Tarrlock...don't know how though. The arranged marriage, still totally think that should have been canon. I think it would have been interesting to see how a spouse would have reacted to her breakdown. I also think that her being female adds something to the relationship they have. I also like her more as a female.

Here's the thing this isn't a little kids show when I think of those I think of something like Care Bears not this.Avatar is what I classify as a family show something that works for all audiences ever if it seems intended for kids. I don't think they can go to dark but Bryke certainly has and I think everyone kind of appreciates it. I'm not saying they should have done it but I'm saying that these writers have gone dark before.

If they had killed her I would absolutely been mad as heck! I cannot imagine Azula as a guy. She's much more suited as a female. I think the arranged marriage could have shown her realizing that the love around her, like with her father, wasn't real and make her want something real. It also could have been someone that could have been her Iroh. Someone who truly loved her and wanted to help bring her on the right road. What I wish season 3 did was give us even more of Azula's complexity and some redemption. I want them to make a comic where Azula has her redemption or at least make The Search into a movie and then make a series or movie about Azula's journey of redemption. I would pay to see that in a heart beat and if it was a show I would not miss a single episode. I WANT IT!

@Alchemist I don't really see it as a kid's show either. Family show maybe. But it has such a complex plot with such complex themes that I just can't see it as a children's show.

@kataralover Same. Also same, I think it was a better idea characterization wise to make Azula a female. I definitely think Azula could have used a new example of what real love is. She could have used it. I think Azula is just such a great character and they could have done so much more with her but they just didn't. I'd love a show based on The Search.
