She doesn't explain why what Azula is doing or saying is wrong. Children need to be taught why the bad things they're doing are wrong, not just be told it's bad. That's just making the child feel like they're being criticized and that they're unloved. Just a terrible mother and this is one of the reasons why.

Exactly. The goal of disciplining a child is to let them know what they did wrong and to prevent it from happening again. If you simply make them feel unloved or like they are just plain wrong it does little to actually make them understand what they did wrong, it just makes them feel unloved.

I think she should have been less harsh towards Azula. She should have just talked to Azula and made her promise not to make the same mistake again.

I don't see why Ursa gets blamed for how evil Azula is. Azula had all the opportunity in the world to follow the example of Ursa or Iroh like Zuko did, but she sort of chose to be like her father.

My bottom line is that Ursa, Ozai, Iroh they are all adults. Azula is just a kid. Upbringing has a big hand in it. I say the same thing about season 1 Zuko. I highly put responsibility for Zuko being evil on Ozai. Neglect and abuse can screw a kid up and Azula is a good example of that. She had NO positive role models and one role model who encouraged the worst sides of her. Whereas Zuko had two positive role models.
