If Katara didn't walk into Azula's view, and if Zuko didn't taunt her into using lightning, it might have not happened. So Zuko actually brought it on himself for baiting her.
And vanillalove6, sadder is a word. It sounds funny, but it is.
Zuko made a full quick recovery Azula didn't even begin hers.
I was so upset though. Her going from perfect to showing how fragile she is is just so heartbreaking to watch for me.
It broke my heart to see her cry, I can't stand to see a girl cry. Zuko's injuries will heal but Azula has been emotionally and mentally hurt. Zuko didn't really care aboutbeing Fire Lord in my opinion he just wanted to find his destiny and find out who he really was. I think he was better off working with his Uncle Iroh in Ba Sing Se. Azula wanted to prove something of herself because she lives in a male dominated society, where women are just thought of as pretty faces and sex simbols.
Women in her society including her are considered sex simbols because we see that the female guards wear outfits that are extreamly revealing. They wear armer that shows their belly buttons and show alot of leg. Azula in my opion wanted to prove that women can be more than just sex simbols. Because all the Fire Lords were men, she wanted to prove that a woman can be just as good as any man. She sorta lost sight of all her kindness because of her father but it was also her mother's fault for not giving her any attention. So since her mother didn't do anything Azula basically was angry and kept using the rage from her childhood pain as an excuse to hurt others so they can hurt like she does.
Zuko actually brought this on himself he was taunting her so even though I like him he deserves it. She didn't have very good friends either, Mai and Ty Lee betray her for Zuko. That's stupid because the three of them have been best friends their whole lives. Ty Lee didn't even have much of a relationship with Zuko, they hadly even spoke they didn't talk to each other until the beach episode. Mai did have a crush but they didn't really talk much as kids and didn't really speak a word to each other until they were teenagers and they met after Zuko returns home. Mai has been best friends with Azula since they were little girls and choses someone she's dated for like a few months. Plus he dumped her in a letter, he didn't even have the guts to break up with her to her face. How could she chose Zuko over her best friend? So I BY FAR feel more sorry for Azula.
@maky Was it not cheating for Zuko to use Azula's insanity against her? An eye for an eye.
@Ty-Yuki She's also only a 14 year old girl. One that was horrendously misguided by her father. Her mother didn't show her love and compassion so she turned to her dad who set a really poor example. The hatred of Zuko came from her father, and she has shown signs that she actually did care for him...so that's just not true. She just doesn't know how to show love very well because it was something Ozai didn't deem important to teach her. As for killing him; she didn't start that until her sanity started to slip--she was in the middle of a breakdown, of course touch with morals is gonna go. No one deserves to lose their mind, it the only thing that's truly yours.
