At the end of the show, she seemed to care less about everyone else, saving the world, and more about herself: she also seemed a more strong character, even if she fell in love with every guy she met. I wish she had stayed like that the whole show. And PS- If anyone makes a perverted comment, or just picks her because she's "hotter", I will die inside. Honestly.

Older Katara nags too much and is a total control freak. She's annoying dramatic and too emotional.

I have a mixed feeling about both. I disliked young Katara because she was always falling for guys she just met, but she was at least kinder and wasn't as selfish.

I disliked old Katara because she was, like others said, a bitch. I can understand why she would get stressed or would like some things to go her way, but her chewing everyone out wasn't needed. She cared about others, but she was leaning more on the selfish side in Book 3.

I like both, yet dislike both.

^You always say everything.^ Thats definitely it. I was really hating on Katara, but then I watched some of the beginning episodes, and I really liked her back then.

I like earth season Katara. After she gets her powers and can take care of herself and generally be badass, but before the events in the season finale with make her bitter and rude.

Forgot to mention, I liked her a little bit before The Eclipse. Before that, she still had her 'caring for others' attitude. After that episode, she went down hill. When Zuko showed up (though I understand), she became flat out rude.

I didn't mind her in season 1. After that, she makes me want to punch something.

I liked how in some of the later episodes she showed she had become a strong, determined young woman; very different from the naive girl that fell for every guy she saw in the beginning of the show. In some parts though she started to annoy me with her need to always be the boss and when she'd fly off the handle at every little thing. She's still any amazing, epic character. Her flaws make her more realistic because everybody has them. :)

^^ I know what you mean. I actually liked when she cared about others, we need more people like that in the world. In the third season, I understood why she acted the way she did, but I felt she was pushing things too far. It does seem like people dislike her for everything, which I don't think is really fair. There's something to admire in everything if they look for it.

Azula, to me, doesn't seem to know how to act differently. It's more of her confort zone, and if she didn't act that way she thought people would walk all over her and she'll lose respect. Katara, like I said, also has a good reason to act the way she did. But it was starting to really bug me that she was being so close-minded, and yells about her mom dying when it wasn't even Zuko's fault. It seemed like she was trying to make everyone feel bad. I liked her, yet disliked her for different reasons.

This doesn't go for everyone, of course. Just explaining my answer.

Old Katara's kind of bitchy. Plus, I love Young Katara's braid.

Don't get me wrong I love Katara but younger katara was kinda annoying, and I liked her season three hairstyle way better.

I liked older Katara better throughout most of the show, but I picked older because of The Southern Raiders, which was pretty built up by the way she always talked about losing her mother.

Can't speak for others but I can speak for myself; never once did I say I hated her for being 'selfish.' That's not one of the reasons. She's not selfish. Maybe in the episode with that waterscroll but that was just one time. I do however dislike her because of that (I guess you can call it) 'worries too much' attitude. She's kind of a buzz kill to me.

Trust me I always have a reason for disliking something. Weather that reason is a good reason or not, well I guess that's debatable. As said above I hate her if she's too motherly. Honestly I want her to be a bit more selfish I guess.

It's that motherly attitude. The bossiness. Some of the things she said to Toph when they first met. Some of the things she says to Sokka...granted the two are siblings so fighting is kind of natural. The way she got mad at Aang when teaching him waterbending because he caught on so quick was kind of bitchy. However (3 years later) I'm not going to call her a bitch because I'm honestly against calling any character a bitch.

Yes and no. See here's where I'm gonna do some explaining; the reason I started calling Katara a bitch years back is because so many Katara fans were calling Azula a bitch I decided that if they can call Azula a bitch I was going to show them how annoying it was to see their favorite character getting called such. Basically I (personally) started calling Katara such in retaliation. When people stopped calling Azula a bitch I stopped doing so with Katara.

Don't have anything to say about this one because I didn't have an issue with her treating him like crap...honestly at the time I didn't like him so it was kind of funny.
Yes I don't like Katara, but that doesn't mean I can't pick out positives and such. I can understand completely her lack of trust.

Awesome, but you forgot to factor in that Azula was not in a sound state of mind. The Azula that Katara faced in the final battle was not the Azula she was facing before. Azula was losing it so of course her usual ability to think and plan ahead and form those meticulous strategies was on the decline. Likewise with her physical strength, her mental state had her tiring herself out more quickly--on top of that she was already sleep-deprived as well (as hinted by the bags under her eyes). Moreover Zuko also helped tire her out before Katara came in. It was a two on one fight, against someone in a state of mental crisis. Basically it was kind of an unfair fight.
What I'm trying to say is; the only reason Katara won was because Azula was losing it. Had Azula been in her right mind, she'd have won.

Understandable. I'm that way with Azula. And in my first year on fanpop Azula got hate on the daily...which is actually what aided in my resentment of Katara, but that's another story.
