poetry originated a long long time ago by I don't know who. The first poet was most likely elloquent, which is how the whole thing got started. He/she said something from deep inside and others realized how beautiful it was and then the tradition began. Now it still coems from deep inside, from things that have happened or dreams and aspirations. It comes from us being who we are and telling it like it is to us to others by use of beautifully combined words and imagery and such.
