Disney Princess Question

What sets Belle apart from the other Disney princesses?

Aside from her constantly reading, of course.

As a child, Belle used to be my favourite princess, but now she's pretty low on my list. In fact, she'd be at the bottom if it weren't for my attachment to her.
Belle is usually loved for being selfless, sweet, not judgemental etc., and according to a lot of people these reasons make her better than the other princesses. But these qualities are found in nearly every princess.
I think Belle is a good role model, but I don't like how overrated she is. She is a Mary Sue in a sense that her flaws work to her advantage or create sympathy or admiration towards her, and everything she does is porrayed in a good light. I've actually began to be very irritated with Belle and the way she is portrayed.
Belle had received the title as Disney's Greatest Heroine, but there are so many other Disney women who have done greater things, or who would have done the exact same things as Belle had they been in her situation, maybe even doing better things.
So I'm basically asking, what's so great about Belle? What makes her special and why does she deserve so much adoration from fans?

Belle's my least favorite for the reasons you just listed. There's nothing really unique about her.

Honestly, most people like Belle because she reads.

But I like her because she's compassionate, polite, feminine, and in a way, I relate to her: we're both outcasts, read the same type of books, can be snobbish and try to put the blame in others, are too curious for their own good.

I don't find Belle to be perfect as people say; she has flaws, she makes wrong choices and the movie show their consequences.

I don't think Belle exactly is my top because she is special. because when I look at the princesses I've seen their archetypes a million times even Belle but I love Belle because even with her "there must be more than this provincial life" dreaming big but content to spend her life in a book, she solidly know who she is and what she stands for. not very unique even simplifying her as a character but I find Belle relatable because as a fellow reader and watching her on screen I actually realized that I am also a bit snobbish with other people and my dreams outreach what I actually would do. I see myself in her and I actually can get mad at her without getting MAD at her. like a buddy. seriously EVERYONE has mentioned the west wing scene. I roll my eyes and yet remember participating in the blame game that she plays with the Beast because its such a human thing to do. walking around oblivious to everything going on? I relate. worrying that your a bit odd? i relate. stubborness? yep. knowing what you want to do and what you should do? yup. and when she's stuck in a castle she actually acts like her whole life has changed (horse nudging her sad self for supprt/crying in her bedroom/still thinking of the life she lost)and when she tried to help the situation of her father taken away by revealing the Beast it actually didn't go the way she wanted indirectly getting the Beast killed after his castle is stormed by an angry mob led by an awesome song. If people don't personally like her I get it, people have different tastes, preferances and look for different things in their princesses but she will always be my favorite. relatability goes into a lot of people's lists and I can relate to Belle. I don't need her to be unique, I just love her because I understand. I don't think any princesses is the best per say because they are all different. and honestly as for the word overrated... I know why the word is used but goomies it is getting on my nerves, not just when people use it with Belle but with anything ever in existence. its become like coconut to me (I hate coconut )

every princesses is special and not at the same time and I think it all has to do with preferance and I like Belle not because I think she is the best princesses ever but because I personally like her a lot
