Hypothetically, Would you have preferred if Eric were to turn into a mermaid for Ariel?

It's Merman for a male. And no, besides Eric doesn't have a passion for the world under the sea, like Ariel has for the human world. I think if Ariel was human and Eric was the Merman, then yes - living in the sea with him.
