I don't care if she is the first DP and if at that time they liked stuff like this, well, at this time many people don't. Being the first DP shouldn't mean being cliche is completely fine. 	maryksand picked 8-10: shanyuisboss - that's how I feel as well, although for me it's not so much about a cliche (because to be fair, what she does/says in the movie is quite realistic considering the circumstances she was inorganically put in and it's more her emotional reactions that barely convey or reflect any rational/natural fears or brokenness that would have been inevitable after everything she had been through that is the problem rather than her being stereotypical) as it is about the lack of insight into her psychological condition and dimentions of her mind which always makes it significantly hard to relate to her whenever I rewatch the movie. With that said, I still like her and appreciate her enourmously valuable contribution to what we now know as the DP line up thanks to her. posted over a year ago.

She is very sweet but it is just so hard to relate to her and feel like she as a character, not what she does but how her personality isn't one you can relate to and find in the real world. but no matter, she started everything. Even though you know something is gonna start it and it doesn't automatically make it better if it is first, you just have to honor her. She feels like the classic fairy tale one. . posted over a year ago.
