All of them really annoy me, though...

They're so emotionally-strong (especially SW and Cinderella, who are two of the strongest Princesses IMO). Just because they're not 'badass' by definition, it does not make them weak/boring characters.

Also the Jasmine option. Seriously, showing a bit of skin doesn't = slut. Jesus.

I DON'T like any of the choices, don't agree with them at all. But Ariel's, Belle's, Jasmine's, and this choice annoy me most.

They all make me mad just reading them, but I just chose this one because so many people say she's ugly. She's not! Rapunzel may not be the most attractive heroine, she wasn't supposed to be, but she is pretty.

I'll admit it annoys me, I know my favorite character is Ariel but it does.

I think this movie deserves more attention. It has amazing songs, Poca and John are perfect, and the whole story is just beautiful.

Also "All the Classic DPs are boring and weak" "Jasmine dresses like a slut which makes her one" "I hate the movie Pocahontas, it's the absolute worst" and "Mulan is just boring."

Also the Belle and the classic DPs ones.

And Rapunzel and Tiana and Pocahontas.

Mainly because this one is sort of "on-trend" at the moment, if you get what I mean. The Classic DPs one is another that I really hate, as well as the PATF one.
And, on the Belle one, she doesn't necessarily only read fairytales. That was her favorite, wouldn't your favorite book be one with adventure and not, say, a history book? And it isn't necessarily a fairytale- you take out the disguise and you have Harry Potter, replace the magic with technology and you have The Hunger Games. Romance=/=fairytale.

I barely liked/paid attention to these three when I was younger, but I changed my opinions so much. I love all of them with a burning passion! Also, the Pocahontas, Mulan, and Princess and the Frog ones.

Her favourite book might be a fairy tale, but maybe reads lots of factual books too.

rhythmicmagic, THANK YOU. I think you deserve a round of applause for your comment about Belle. You summed up what I've been trying to say for ages. Not to mention that she teaches the Beast how to read by using Shakespeare; Shakespeare does not write fairytales last time I checked.

Mostly this one.

Tied with the Classics but the hate they get I'm so used to and it's very slightly starting to ebb... but this annoys me a lot because people use it as a ruler with which to measure the intelligence of the other girls too. Which is stupid since only Rapunzel do we see reading on screen (and with only 3 books and a super isolated life, it's not quite the same as reading as a hobby as Belle does).

It's an incredibly limited and unfair way to do it and just dumb since people cherry pick when books make you smart and when they don't. Ie Belle is a genius whose brain is apparently her defining trait yet women who love reading Twilight or 50 Shades or Harlequin novels are vapid, basic bimbos with bad taste. Obviously despite using books as a litmus test for being smart for Belle and other famous nerdy characters do not actually think so, so this is a bad argument.

It also fails to hold up because if she is that smart, why does she make some of the worst choices of all the DPs? Other girls get called less intelligent for less foolish mistakes and with less information to work with or being younger.

Also, I never hear Mulan get called that outside fanpop and even then it's pretty unpopular. I also don't really hear that about Rapunzel- I thought she was universally seen as cute if not beautiful.

I do think Ariel is a bit disrespectful, even if she doesn't mean to be.
