I wouldn't mind if she got one but I also wouldn't mind if she stayed single. As long as the movie is good than it doesn't matter to me.

I guess it would be okay unless that was the main focus of the movie then no...Can't we have a Princess movie where the main plot is not about love? That is what I love about Brave and I also like in How to train your Dragon the Hiccup and Astrid thing was just a side note.....You can have a good movie with a wonderful lesson that has nothing to do with a boy and girl hooking up...that is why I liked the first Brother Bear but found the second one annoying....

It wouldn't matter that much but it would be nice for there to be a prince for every princess.

I don't really mind if she does get a love interest in the possible sequel. But I have a feelin' she will.

I would not mind either way... I just want the film to be good. People have lost faith in Pixar when it comes to making sequels since Cars 2 happened. It would be nice, but I would like the other characters to be more developed, and more of the Scottish history and culture to be more explored.

I think it could be done well either way. But AllegroGiocoso has a point.

What matters is that they won't sugar it up and make it like any other average kids movie where there's a small problem and the obvious solution is to just discuss it BUT NO... the excuse is that the rebellious teenager does not want to talk and just makes a tantrum so a whole problem comes along. If a sequel is made, it better be unique and smart. By smart and unique I mean something out of the blue, but makes perfect sense- to why there's a problem that gets bigger. Brave made Pixar become less... Pixar. And I think it's because of Disney that happened. Brave was just a puppet, i.m.o.

If she got a love interest it would arguably diminish everything she brought to the line-up, but whatever.

I don't really want her to have a love interest. If she does okay. I really want a sequel and for it to be good. I think if they more Scottish history like Jayden-G said, the mother daughter relationship, character progression, and have Merida show she can be bada** while being regal/diplomatic they would make a big step forward to making it a good sequel. If she must have a love interest I think it should be a someone who is warrior-like and helps her on her unknown quest. He slowly starts to likes her but doesn't say it outloud. Merida sorta likes him but doesn't get together with him. But at the end of the movie she is thinking that marriage and finding her true love isn't a bad thing. But that's where it ends, maybe she will go for it or maybe she won't.

No. That's one of the things that make her unique, and I honestly don't think she needs a man.

I haven't seen the first one yet, but I really don't want her to have a love interest. If they do, they'll end up making another DP movie with a princess who has to somehow be even more "feminist" than Merida.

She seems to work fine with herself, she stands for independence and freedom. And she seems to resent settling down already. Nah, but I'd like to see her with a male best friend, that'd be pretty interesting

I wouldn't mind it as long as it made sense with the plot and they found a great love interest for her, not just some random guy so she's not the only one without a prince.
