Not because she went to war and saved China, but because of the reason she went and the stakes she was up against. All her life she had been taught to believe that she couldn't handle it out in the "man's world" of war. I believe Mulan went into it believing she would die. And she would get nothing from it. She went only to protect her father. Again, she probably believed she would die, and even if she didn't die in battle, if she was discovered, she would be killed because of the law and she would be found dishonorable (as happened in the mountains.) So I think she's the bravest because she went into a situation she believed would mean certain death when she couldn't get anything out of for herself.
I have a lot of friends who say Belle was the bravest for taking her daddy's place but Beast was going to take care of her. But Mulan went off the war were almost no one comes out okay...or comes out at all.
I do agree she's brave, but if we're going by facing difficult, even life threatening situations, then I would say pretty much all of them but Tiana are brave in that sense (because she doesn't really go through anything that begs the need for being brave). Belle is brave to put aside her dreams for her dad's freedom and life (also, she didn't know the Beast would treat her well), Aurora is brave to do the same for a kingdom she doesn't know, Ariel for never letting fear or anything stop her, Cinderella and Snow for never letting their stepmothers break them, etc.
I feel like I should say yes because it would be traitorous to Mulan and fanpop not to... :S but while she's certainly one of the bravest, she isn't the only one to have her life endangered or face a challenge. I kind of do think it's her and also kinda don't and don't want to say she is just because everyone else is.
I guess that's because it's unfair to judge the others as less brave just because they didn't have the exact same situation Mulan did. I think many if not most of them would have done the same thing, or another equally brave thing. Their situations are all too different, with Mulan's being the only one where she could do something as risky as that.
I don't think that you can really measure bravery...all Princesses are brave in their own way, but they all have to face different challenges. You could say that Mulan is the bravest because she faced down a freaking army....but who knows what the others would have done.
first of all, mulan has a very low self esteem. she the fact that she went to war after just dishonoring her family which mulan got very down over is brave itself. to forget about how she humiliated herself at the matchmaker and just take action is something big. I know that is more strength then bravery, but that is still bravery. I could barely go to sleep in peace after something like that happened. the fact that she just went and made that decision was absolute bravery. she just made the decision to go to war and it was just bravery. it's not like when snow white went to the forest, she just had to think fast and went into the forest because that was her only choice or she was going to get killed. mulan actually got time to think about it and knew exactly what she was going for. she knew that she was going to get killed if she was revealed and that she was up against shan yu. Snow white knew she was going to the forest as well and it would be really scary (seriously, that forest is freaky) but it isn’t like she had another option. She just quickly ran in. mulan actually thought about this and it was actually another big thing to think about after she embarrassed herself at the matchmaker so it was a hard decision with that going on in her mind and realizing what she had to do.
In the end she made the decision and not only did she actually make the decision, the decision was actually facing a huge fear that and actually learning to find herself and forget what happened back at home which is a brave thing to do as well. It doesn’t matter if she was nervous and scared, absence of fear means nothing. Facing it is brave no matter what the fear is, all that matters is the person that faces it.. Doing something as big as this for mulan and for anyone is really brave. By the way, I also agree with rhythmic magic, she isn’t only brave for going to the army.
