Merida's brothers kind of blackmail her, which leaves me with a bad sensation, and Ariel's sisters, while I LOVE them (mainly because of "She's in Love"), don't get much of a chance to shine. I really like the relationship between Anna and Elsa. Both are afraid (Anna of rejection, Elsa of her powers), so they keep their distance from each other (Elsa hides in her bedroom, while Anna looks for romantic love as a substitute for the lost sisterly love), but in the end they come to realize that they need each other's love and support. posted over a year ago.

	Tygers_Eye picked Anna and Elsa: Does Ariel ever even interact with her family? You know, when she's not blowing them off to explore sunken ships or fantasize about Eric. I would say Merida's relationship with her brothers, but it's so brief. It's clear they're fond of each other, as the same boys who were bored stupid by their dad's story of Mor'du were suddenly excited and invested when Merida told it, and she slipped them a whole tray of deserts without any prompt. But otherwise they never really interact in the movie. Apart from Merida calling them "wee devils" in the opening narration and having to bribe them with a year's worth of desserts to get them to help her get their mom-turned-bear out of the castle, we never see them interact, or hear what they think of each other. Elsa and Anna doesn't really impress me either, but sister/sister relationships are sorely lacking in mainstream movies, particularly kid's movies, and especially Disney movies, and Anna's devotion to Elsa is still touching even if it isn't fully explored. I've said before that Anna's devotion to Elsa reminds me of my sister's devotion to me, despite how I've spent most of my life hiding from the world because of my Aspergers. posted over a year ago. last edited over a year ago
