Especially because some of the age gaps are getting a little ridiculous. Come, Rapunzel and Flynn have a 7/8 years gap. It's a little weird.

This one. and they did the male is younger than the female with Kida and Milo and Megara and Herc. I do agree that characters that are good from the start are likable. I just tend to love ones with flaws more.

I somewhat agree with all of them. I love Anna's dress, but I'm not sure if it's my favorite. At least in my top 3.
I think Ariel and Vanessa are equally beautiful.
I don't think there's anything wrong with no development, I guess, but it depends on the character. I do like Phillip.
I definitely agree with this one, though.

All except the dress one. But I most strongly agree with this and character development.

I'm getting a little tired with people saying characters ALWAYS have to have some major flaw and ALWAYS have to go through "character development" over the story to overcome those flaws. I'm starting to wonder hat is so wrong with a character who is already nice and sweet, and doesn't really need to change so much as overcome obstacles?

Although I don't necessarily disagree with any. Anna's dress isn't my favorite but I do like it.

What Tyger said, so much. I don't think Disney does so well when they tried to make developed characters anyway. It usually feels forced to me. and when a character does change, it's always that she grows from being shy/awkward/insecure to bold/outgoing/confident. never a cocky, opinionated, outgoing girl who develops into a gentler, modest person.

Characters like Snow White, Cinderella, Phillip, Belle, etc, don't particularly need any development. They're fine at the start of their movie and fine at the end. It doesn't matter that they didn't change or grow within the context of their movies, because it wasn't required.

It's frustrating when writers try but fail with character development, though (ie Elsa).

sometimes its not bad if the focus isn't changing who you are and more overcoming obstacles

Yeah, Vanessa is a bit of overrated in terms of physical look. Also about no character development one.

No matter, male or female. My least favorite thing about offical Disney Princes is that most of them either lack personality or start like jerks. Kristoff is probably an exception. BTW, non-offical Disney Princes are more likely not have such problem. Quasimodo, Phoebus, Hercules, Tarzan and Milo proof that it is possible to both have personality and be good from the start. Why it is so uncommon for offical Princes to fit both criterias?
