I relate with Ariel having strict parents, but her actions, the way she treats people, and all around selfish motives still make me loathe Ariel none the less.

I initially didn't think "wow, I relate to that and totally see where she's coming from" with Belle- just the opposite, I could not understand much of what she did or why- but now that I've analyzed her I have to laugh at how similar we can be- bookish hipster-like girls who are passively stubborn and can be snobbish about things we know more than some people about.

still doesn't make me love her, though.
