Both are really underrated, but I have to go with The Princess and The Frog. I think it's absolutely brilliant with great and memorable characters (minus Naveen), wonderful songs, solid emotions, good character development for Tiana, gorgeous animation, and truly captured the spirit of Disney. It deserves WAY MORE attention than Frozen got. I mean, this movie brought back the traditional fairy-tales that made Disney so popular and was a 2D animated film, which we hadn't gotten in a LONG TIME! It mainly didn't do as good as Frozen because it was a prejudice against hand-drawn films and wasn't relying on what was popular but rather what was timeless. People, unfortunately, still think of hand-drawn animation as kid stuff and that's just so sad. It has some flaws (like any movie does) but was still MUCH closer to being a true Disney film and being timeless than Frozen was. But Pocahontas is also phenomenal. I think it's problem is mainly that it had to follow the big four (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, and especially The Lion King).

Both are criminally underrated, but the amount of hate I see for Pocahontas physically pains me. Also, I agree with KataraLover. People seeing hand-drawn animation as "kids' stuff" is just sad and ignorant, and The Princess and the Frog really does deserve more recognition than Frozen.

I've never experienced Pocahontas being underrated as most views I hear are emphatically positive about it (unless mentioning historical inaccuracies). I think The Princess and the Frog is underrated though not vastly as I don't think it is one of the greatest. Love the 2D animation style, love the Disney references (Madam Mim; Second Star to the Right; Mark Twain Riverboat/New Orleans Square incorporation) and did have many things that I think Walt Disney would've been very proud of. (I wrote an article about this but I consider PATF, BATB & TLM to be the 3 DP films after his death that Walt would love most because they meet a lot of the same requirements that the classics did.)

Both of them unfortunately :( It's a shame because both of them are great Disney movies, full with memorable songs, characters and sceneries!

Without a doubt. TPATF still gets praise, because it's a Modern princess movie. People barely remember Pocahontas.

TPATF have mixed responses, its not underrated, imo. Some people love it very much others find it ordinary. I have hardly found anyone disliking the movie as such. Pocahontas has been so forgotten now and it was barely recognized in its own time.

The Princess and the Frog gets mixed reviews. It's a shame it wasn't extremely successful. If it was, they may have continued with hand-drawn movies.
Pocahontas get crap for being inaccurate and 'boring'. People mention how Pocahontas was supposed to be the 'it' movie, but The Lion King (which was less hyped) by far surpassed it in success.
