Agreed with this. The gender of the main character(s) shouldn't matter if the movie -- or movieS in this case -- is/are well made.
#2 is interesting; I never picked up on that pattern before. It would be a nice change to see that in a future movie, but I wouldn't be upset if the "intellectual female lead" was used in more movies.
I agree with #4 a bit too, in the sense that not all characters have to develop over the course of a movie if the story doesn't call for it. But if a person doesn't like the character regardless, that's totally fine.

I agree so much with number 1 and 2.

I don't agree with number 3 because I think Disney is for everybody the way it is. The ages of the princesses are totally fine!

haha, this totally sounds like something AudreyFreak would have written.
And yeah, this is my biggest problem with the DP renaissance movies besides Mulan - I know it's well intended but relying on the "heroine as moralizing device" all the time is patronizing and sexist towards women and infantilizing towards men. The Revival movies level the playing field a bit - the heroes and heroines teach each other, and that's nice.

I guess, don't really agree with any of them though:

#1 - The fact that I didn't realize that Pixar only had male characters is extremely bothersome to me. It makes it seem like male is the default, and that men are the only characters everyone can relate to. Which is rather absurd considering half the human population are women.

#2 - We basically got that with Anna.

#3 - The movies are made for kids primarily. It should be things that they can relate to. And if we can too, then that's an awesome bonus.

#4 - There's a difference between being good, and being perfect.

Totally feel this way. I hate #3 though. That is not a real Disney fan and is an ugly opinion.
