The original doesn't really have a personality and is basically just a pretty face and a plot device (And not an interesting one like Eric, Jasmine, or Elsa). The one is the original isn't really written with a lot of character but Elle Fanning's performance actually gives her a personality and charm.

Elle isn't a terrible actor but she's so wooden in this and the performance has none of Aurora's original personality.
