This cast would be absolutely FLAWLESS! Ariana Grande is really the only true choice for Ariel and she CAN act. People think she can't act because she's always being typecasted as the dumb chick with her roles on Victorious, Hairspray Live!, and Scream Queens. I mean, she plays the dumb girl role well but she can play SO MUCH more. Not to mention that before her iconic role as Cat Valentine from Victorious, she specialized with work on Broadway. She has Broadway experience, just like Jodi Benson and Sierra Boggess. She even impressed the legendary director, Steven Spielberg, with her acting on SNL to the point where he actually contacted her and said he wanted her to be in one of his movies, though she declined because she wanted to focus on her singing career. And she's proven time and time again that she is a phenomenal vocalist with her brilliant voice. Her cover of The Wizard and I from Wicked showed a return to her Broadway roots. Her voice is better suited for Broadway than it is for pop.

Not too crazy about the cast although I agree with a few. Ariana's has a really generic and nasally voice imo. I'm glad they're giving the role to someone else.

This is the only one I agree with. I don't like Ariana enough to be Ariel, I can think of so many better choices

This is hard to choose from and Ariana is really has the best voice for Ariel and has the look! Keala Settle as Ursula is absolutely perfect
