What WhiteLagoon13 said.

Being open to wanting to love someone else, and to be loved by them in return is not the horrible goal that Disney now portrays it to be.

"Expecting girls to be perfectly feminine IS NO DIFFERENT to expecting girls to be perfectly feminist (such an idea ironically goes against the point of feminism)."
@disnerdtobe, I am so grateful to you for saying this. It is so annoying when the very people, who defend Merida and Jasmine by saying female characters should be allowed to have flaws, criticize classics for being too passive. Is passivity not a flaw? It seems like they want not DP who has flaws but more like they want DP who has masculine-coded flaws. Of course, everyone has different opinion on which flaws are more acceptable than others but this delusional "I am not a perfectionist" attitude annoys me.
It's also annoying that some believe that only traditionally feminine, ladylike qualities( soft-spokeness, grace) can make a heroine too perfect.
