I give props to Disney for making her so unabashedly girly while still showing that being feminine doesn't mean being weak, stupid or incompetent though. (These days we seem to have a very strong anti-femininity mentality. That is, a woman has to dress and act like a man to be a "good role model" or "good character.") Rapunzel doesn't dress or act like a boy, but the movie believably shows that her feminine charm, ingenuity and weapon use (hair and frying pan) can be as helpful as any sword or combat skills. posted over a year ago. last edited over a year ago
