I just thought of this because the princesses are created partly to be role models for little girls, so I was wondering, if you had to pick only one, who would be your role model? Or, who is the best role model?

For me, it was between Cinderella and Pocahontas. Pocahontas is just such a strong person, she would be a great role model for anybody. But in the end I had to pick Cinderella, because our personalities are the most similar.

For me it was between Belle and Pocahontas. Cinderella is up there too. You have to go through a lot to be her (death of mother, then father, then pretty much slavery - and no complaints).

But Belle stands up to a massive, pitchfork crowd. Hmm.

I just might change my answer. Let me think some more.

Hands down Belle. Beauty and the Beast teaches you to be kind to people regardless of outward appearance and first impressions. Belle's awesome!

And seriously, how can ANYONE pick Ariel!? She's a bratty little 16 year old who teaches you that rebelling against your parents gets you what you want. . . LAME!

DisneyAurora picked Snow White:
Snow White, because she's had the hardest life and worked the hardest.
Cinderella- she had magic on her side, Snow White had it aganist her.
Aurora- She had an easy life.
Ariel- She's had an easy life.
Belle- easy life. All she really had to do was fall in love with the beast!
Jasmine- She was kind of spoiled.

Could one blame Belle for judging the Beast in the beginning? He was mean.

TotallyMe105 picked Belle:
The beast threw her father in a dungeon then threw him into a carriage...I would have judged too.
But the point is Belle eventually looked past that and fell in love with him....she was WILLING to give him a second chance...even after all he had done.
I think we all need to learn to be that way.

I've always wanted to be like Belle. Even now. And with Belle, it's easy to aspire to be like her. She has a reasonable body that's not so beautiful it's unrealistic, and she's an intellectual.

Belle, because she's intelligent, isnt vain but looks quite pretty, and she fell for Adam based on personality, not looks :)

skyqueen17 picked Belle:
Belle is intelligent, loves books, doesn't even know she's beautiful, doesn't mind speaking her mind and most of all, she loved Adam because of who he was, not what he looked like. Most of the other princesses, such as Ariel and Cinderella, noted about their lovers their visage.

maryksand picked Cinderella:
That's the thing though: I don't need a "role model", a little miss perfect who can do no wrong and represents everything our mothers were so eager to turn us into when we were little girls instead of upholding the idea of individuality. A Princess should be a little selifish, a little rebellious, a little superficial, she should make mistakes, she should have shallow crushes that later develop into something bigger and better. I would go with Cinderella, because she actually has flaws but despite them manages to keep everything balanced and not let the complications and hardships of life turn her into a bitter or angry person.

Where the heck is Merida from Brave? She is tough, storng and looks realistic! Plus, she shows that you don't need a man in your life to be happy :)
That is the best lesson of all
