I think Ariel is a smart girl but not highly intelligent. I believe Melody is highly intelligent. She's in my top 3 smartest disney heroines.

Hm, how is Ariel smart? Melody on the other hand...well she fell for the same tricks for which Ariel fell, but at least Melody's still a child, so it's understandable if she's not always very bright.

Yeah that doesn't make her sound crazy at all and it's totally believable. Ariel knew Ursula was evil but that doesn't make her dumb that makes her brave. Stop mistaking stupidity with bravery.

Melody was stupid enough to take her own grandfather's triton! and then picked trusting a weird squid looking lady more than her own mother! thats the smartest thing I'v ever heard!

Oh yeah because she knew it was her grandfather's, oh wait, NO SHE DIDN'T! Yeah trusting a woman who's done nothing but make her dreams come true is better than trusting your mother who lied and hid the truth from her all her life. She didn't know Morgana was evil and would you trust someone who lied and hide the truth from you all your life? She was not stupid, she just made a mistake, she's 12 years old!

I know but still my mom's lied to me plenty of times, but the thing is she knew her mother all of her life, she knew morgana for what a day?

I think she was just mad and confused considering she just found out the biggest secret EVER, that her mother is a mermaid and she never told her. I mean if my parents kept that from me than I would be REALLY MAD at them! Any person would've done the same thing in her situation.

But I think that both of them are very smart. :) Personally, I don't see either of them as stupid -- I think they can both be pretty reckless, though. Mostly because the frontal lobe in teenagers tends to not be entirely developed (it controls your judgment and decision-making process), so they...kind of do reckless things. They're human is all. :) #End insufferable-know-it-all two cents. XD
