I completely agree. Jate is all well and good, but it little more than a narrowing down of who is left - I mean, take away the dead characters, Claire (because she won't get over Charlie for a while) and Sun/Jin (because they're married), who is left that is attractive? Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet. Is it any wonder that they're the ones swooning at eachother?

Desmond and Penny's relationship is total and eternal devotion that stretches across class boundaries and thousands of miles.

I'm getting a bit sick of the whole Jack-Kate-Sawyer thing, Desmond and Penny belong together, they really love each other, it's just more beautiful (and less confusing) then Kate-Jack-Sawyer

It's nice just to see two people in love, instead of all this "will-they-wont-they" stuff.

I mean, I don't hate the jate/skate drama, but penny and desmond are deffinatly a nice break from it :)
