Minecraft Question

Is what they are saying about the Minecraft movie true?

I'm hearing a lot about this lately, but It kind of sounds....strange? a game where you survive, but never really die forever, fighting monsters, and Punching trees which then float in the air?! how could that possibly become a movie?! I guess WB has their own ideas or something, but like would it use 'real people' and scenery, or will it be like those little animated shorts that you can find on YouTube?
