Monkey Island Question

I cant make starting the second CD of The curse of monkey island

A Friend of me gave me his cds of tales of monkey island and (like the 1 and 2) i played it with scumm on Ubuntu. I played the first cd and it didnt give me any problem, but i installed the second and it doesnt start, it opens the window of the game but after 1 second it closes. I tried many times and my friend said that on his computer he didnt have any problem. Please help me cuz id like to continue this game! I love monkey island!!! D:

Did you find a solution to this? If you are using ScummVM then you should be able to just copy the files required to run the game off of the CD and onto your computer and run the whole thing through ScummVM without having to swap CDs part way through the game.

Hey there! I stilll have that problem but well i do as you do, i copy all the files and run them on ScmmVM but as i said, it doesnt start and I dont know why, even now with my new computer it does the same thing.

Strange. There must be a way to get it to work, seeing as it runs okay for your friend. I've found some more information on the ScummVM forums that might help you pinpoint what needs to be done. It might just be that a single file is missing or in the wrong place. If you still have no luck, maybe try playing with the game's settings (by selecting it in ScummVM and then choosing "Edit Game") in case something about it is incompatible with your computers. I think there must be a way to get it working, it might just take a bit of experimenting!
