Mormonism Question

is their anything religiously wrong with this

i practice both Mormonism and Buddhism. the 11th article of faith states

"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

but i just don't feel like the people in my church approve of it so i just don't talk about it in church. not to mention being an introvert like i am i have a hard time talking to somebody about it.

It is great to gain as much knowledge as we can and, as various church leaders have said, retain the good things from every possible source. The LDS church doesn't have sole ownership over everything that is right and good. There are, however, many points between religions that do not coincide. For me, I take comfort in knowing that God guides the LDS church through a living prophet, as well as through personal guidance. Pray and study what the prophets say and guide your life according to what you learn.

I also believe in a lot of Buddha's teachings! Good for you for just practicing both! Anyway, if you're ever asked to give a talk, and you are free to choose your topic, why not speak on this? You don't have to force them to see it your way, but just ask them to accept you, or at least not judge you, if they are.

yeah. You can choose to worship as you want to. it seems like budhism is way different than mormonism. Wouldn't they have conflicting principles? IDK. that is kinda cool, though.
and that is what the 11th article of faith means. Don't force anyone to believe what you believe. Don't shun them if they do believe in something else.
I think it is fine just as long as you are worshiping God and only God.
Do what you feel is right and what you think God would approve of.
