It's a church website for Members to post their testimony and stuff like that. It only uses the word mormon, because everyone (especially outside of Utah) knows us as 'Mormons'. But the website is sure to put the churches name "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints." on every website page.
It is for investigators of the church to look at member's testimonies and such. Also fellow members may read it, to strengthen their own testimony. It tells who we are and what we stand for. Our beliefs.
It makes it easy for someone to locate a church, buy a book of mormon, meet with missionaries or members, and ask questions.
It is a great missionary tool.
