Period Drama Fans Songs that Cheer you Up

Hey everyone!
Feeling down is really annoying, isn't it?
Sometimes I feel a lot better after listening a happy song. I just hide out in my room, put on a happy song and dance and sing like I mean it!
I've always thought music can chage the way we feel about the world around us and also can help us get through hard times.
I have a lot of happy songs but I'm interested in yours :)

Oh, it's hard to say... A lot of songs really. Such as:
Wishin' and Hopin'/Ani DiFranco and I Say A Little Prayer (OST My Best Friend's Wedding) - one of my all-time favourite movies and soundtracks, it's so positive music;
Via Con Me/Paolo Conte - so cheerful song, for me;
Ain't No Mountain High Enough (OST Stepmom) - I don't know why it cheers me up, maybe because I imagine that scene when heroes are singing this song, it's so kind and warm scene;
Can't Take My Eyes Off You/Muse - the best song;
This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)/Natalie Cole - since recently I love it so much, just don't know why;
Breakaway/Kelly Clarkson - it's not my favourite song, but I always break into a smile while listening to it...

What a great choices! I do love Elvis and 'I Say A Little Prayer' is a fantastic song as well :)
Another great song that always comfort me when I'm blue is Fix You

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse.

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home...

Simply inspiring

It’s been a long road
Getting from there to here
It’s been a long time
But my time is finally near
And I can feel the change in the wind right now
Nothing’s in my way
And they’re not gonna hold me down no more
No they’re not gonna hold me down
‘Cause I’ve got faith of the heart
I’m going where my heart will take me
I’ve got faith to believe
I can do anything
I’ve got strength of the soul
And no one’s gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I’ve got faith, I’ve got faith, faith of the heart

When my boyfriend plays & sings for me (my name is SUNNY) this:

Bobby Hebb "Sunny" (1966)

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain.
Sunny, you smiled at me and really eased the pain.
The dark days are gone, and the bright days are here,
My Sunny one shines so sincere.
Sunny one so true, I love you.

Sunny, thank you for the sunshine bouquet.
Sunny, thank you for the love you brought my way.
You gave to me your all and all.
Now I feel ten feet tall.
Sunny one so true, I love you.

Sunny, thank you for the truth you let me see.
Sunny, thank you for the facts from A to C.
My life was torn like a wind-blown sand,
And the rock was formed when you held my hand.
Sunny one so true, I love you.

Sunny, thank you for the smile upon your face.
Sunny, thank you for the gleam that shows its grace.
You're my spark of nature's fire,
You're my sweet complete desire.
Sunny one so true, I love you.

Sunny, yesterday my life was filled with rain...

ONE REPUBLIC - GOOD LIFE

Woke up in London yesterday
Found myself in the city near Piccadilly
Don't really know how I got here
I got some pictures on my phone

New names and numbers that I don't know
Address to places like Abbey Road
Day turns to night, night turns to whatever we want
We're young enough to say

[Chorus]

Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

Say oh, got this feeling that you can't fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life

Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh

[Verse 2]

To my friends in New York, I say hello
My friends in L.A. they don't know
Where I've been for the past few years or so
Paris to China to Col-or-ado

Sometimes there's airplanes I can' t jump out
Sometimes there's bullshit that don't work now
We are god of stories but please tell me-e-e-e
What there is to complain about

[Bridge 1]

When you're happy like a fool
Let it take you over
When everything is out
You gotta take it in

[Chorus]

Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

Say oh, got this feeling that you can't fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life

Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh
A good good life Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh

[Bridge 2]

Hopelessly
I feel like there might be something that I'll miss
Hopelessly
I feel like the window closes oh so quick
Hopelessly
I'm taking a mental picture of you now
'Cuz hopelessly
The hope is we have so much to feel good about

[Chorus]

Oh this has gotta be the good life
This has gotta be the good life
This could really be a good life, good life

Say oh, got this feeling that you can't fight
Like this city is on fire tonight
This could really be a good life
A good, good life

Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh

To my friends in New York, I say hello
My friends in L.A. they don't know
Where I've been for the past few years or so
Paris to China to Col-or-ado

Sometimes there's airplanes I can' t jump out
Sometimes there's bullshit that don't work now

"Cabaret" by Judi Dench always cheers me up!

And "Demon Kitty Rag" by "Katzenjammer" (actually most of their songs make me happy)
