Urgg... am I the ONLY one who has read Quidditch Through The Ages? A random player CANNOT catch the snitch, that would be interference, and they would be disqualified. Snitches have flesh memories, so the referee will be able to check who caught it.

Only theSeeker catches the Snitch. By doing so, they give their team 150 points, which usually wins the game. It's also why they get fouled so much. Seekers are light and speedy. Someone like Crabbe Or Goyle isn't fast enough to keep up with the ball. Also, Beaters, Chasers, and Keepers have their own problems. If a Beater chased the Snitch, what would happen? How about the Keeper? A Chaser? Nope. It only makes logical sense for the Seeker to get the Snitch. Honestly, did ANYONE read Oliver Wood's explanation of the game in Socerer's Stone?
