What's the most toxic fandom have you been in?

I gotta say the edm fandom. They bullied Getter into depression, just because he went from dubstep and trap to industrial. That, and the Pokémon fandom.

okay, seriously
A lot of fandoms are pretty damn toxic
Not that the product can be compared to the.... "people" that are part of it
Recently, I'd say the Jojo fandom. Never have I met a band of man babies who get upset over a fucking work of fiction all because people don't watch it. Yes, Jojo is great, but do you gotta talk to everyone like their inhuman because they haven't watched it. This is Jojo, not the fucking Bible!

THIS IS A NEW ADDITION: The SMT And Persona fandom. I love Persona and I love SMT, I love both of them. I think Persona 4 is on equal terms to SMT III: Nocturne, but holy shit, that fandom is so divided, it makes the Grand Canyon look narrow. The fandoms are fine on their own, but if you discuss Persona on an SMT forum or vice versa, you pretty much committed a war crime. And this is all from the same franchise too. The fans hate the other games and the fandoms of the games so much. Just think of the Fire Emblem fandom with less people but far more vicious words

The Once fandom by far! I have never seen a community (aside from the Steven Universe fandom, but I'm not in that one) bully so many actors off of twitter. They constantly sent death threats to the writers. At a convention there was a literal ship war; someone asked Lana (Regina) a question about Swan Queen. They kept talking over her answer and were generally disrespectful. She finally kinda snapped and asked, "are you going to let me answer the question?" And then they got all on twitter and started talking about how she's a mean person.

I've also had personal experiences where I was accused of being the type to shoot up a theater simply because Regina is my favorite character. I had a pretty long standing feud with this one user. Honestly that fanpop club was a warzone for a while. You couldn't post a single thing without at least one person starting shit.

Voltron was pretty bad too; they bullied the writers out of Kacxa being canon and basically hated on Acxa until the writers sidelined her.

But Once has them beat. Hell, I went to a convention offline and was just making conversation with these girls wearing Captain Hook shirts. They gave me the evil eye when I said that Regina is my favorite character. Granted, everyone else was really nice.

Honestly the Voltron situation really scares me. The fact that an audience can have the power to change the story to suit their wishes is a very hard pill to swallow.

Kpop fandom. The negative outweighs the positive unfortunately. Still enjoy the music from time to time but stay out of the fandom. The kpop fandom is pretty toxic and awful.

Miraculous is the worst one I have been yet. The only times I actually care about the fandom are some friends I made there and when the characters Lila Rossi and Kagami Tsurugi appear or cute moments between Kagami Tsurugi and Adrien Agreste. Otherwise I'm seeing forwards to start writing fanfic for Dreamwork's Abominable movie hopefully I can find some friends there or even somewhere else.

All fandoms are toxic fairly equally. The only reason why it would be less is because the fandom isn't as popular as another fandom is.

Recently tho I've been getting harassed most in the Blue Exorcist fandom
Like someone legit said I supported homophobia and pedophilia because of one of the characters I like that are very much so not guilty of either in the series lmao

I don’t know.
But the least toxic I’ve been in is definitely Cavetowns fandom. I’m sure there is some bad ones, as there always is, but it’s actually surprisingly wholesome for the most part.

My Hero Academia and Naruto are the worst ones I've been in. Constant ship wars and antis exhibit worse behavior than the character/ship they supposedly hate. Ah, the irony.

I'm glad Kishimoto stuck to his guns and ended the story the way he wanted to. I just hope Horikoshi doesn't get pressured by fans to move things in a certain direction or make ships appear canon just to avoid backlash. MHA is already well-written as it is, and letting thirsty fans decide how things should play out would destroy the story. Like there's apparently a petition a group of fans sent out just to make their ship canon??? How about no? Fans should never be involved in or influence the writing process unless the author specifically asks, imo.

The overall worst fandom I've heard of is the Steven Universe fandom, though. SU seems to have more bullying and death threats than even the average bad fandom, and yet this bullying is justified in the eyes of "fans" because they're on the "right" side. And if the creators disagree with their actions? Well, then the creators must be on the "wrong" side, too, and death threats are warranted! Yay! Funny how problematic behavior is a no-no in a work of fiction but totally okay irl. Thank God I'm not in this fandom lmao.

Legend of Korra Fandom. Don’t get me wrong I love the show but there has been a lot of toxic fans that would want to become more superior than others, I remember when Korrasami was announced to be canon, and when other fans that didn’t like the pairings or voice on their opinion how they didn’t like the show was written, they get backlash and called Homophobics, and on top of that they go too far as to bully David Faustino, the voice actor of Mako, okay I get the whole disliking a character thing but to attack a person who's just doing their job is wrong and not cool man. So yeah, here’s your answer. But it’s not just legend of Korra there are other toxic fandoms too.
