Unfortunately it was pretty obvious to me that Scar had to lose - it's Disney.

Of course I knew he would lose because the ending had to be Disney fluff happily ever after no matter by which means.

As in, NO, Scar definately would not have lost the fight in realistic version of it. Scar may have been old and starving, but he had to be much more skilled and probably stronger than Simba could hope to be after having spent most of his growth and life with a meerkat and warthog and eating only bugs.

There was no way Simba could've trained his fighting skills in the jungle, or that he even would've with his Hakuna Matata attitude. And bugs canly bugs can not be making a growing lion male strong. And he ended up there when he was barely one year old!

Remember the beginning of movie? "Well when it comes to brains I got the lion's haft, but when it comes to brutal strength-" He was saying the to Mufasa. Simba is very much like Mufasa, including in size. Scar is weak from lack of food and he was already very lean. Simba was just to big and Scar wouldn't be able to over power him.
I still do wish Scar would have won though. I love him.

I think scar could have one if it wasn't disney and simba may be as big as mufasa but scar was stronger and more skilled, I love him :)

That's the way it works in these disney movies. I would have been content with him losing the fight and NOT dying
