I saw SofiaK's comment -- as well as the others -- and when I read it, it really stood out. Down to a tee!

The word? SELFLESS.

It's what he is. It's who he is. Before becoming Supes, AND after becoming Big Blue.

And I mean, when you think about it, all the other words used to describe CK does entail some modicum of selflessness. To be heroic, a boy scout, a natural born/world's biggest and best hero; entails selflessness from the start. Otherwise, even a miniscule amount of its antithesis, CK or anyone could never be those pre-mentioned qualities/adjectives.

Farmboy, Reporter, Superman: these are all nouns -- Superman being questionable, perhaps if Supes was not capitalised then it could be used. Adjectives would be the best, I think.

And for me, SofiaK's really hits it on the nail. It's such a beautiful magnificent concept and ideal, which is a very rare trait in people today that I find most unfortunate. CK is the only person, albeit fictional, I know of that completely and wholly immerses himself in being the best possible individual he can possibly be -- both as Clark Kent, and as his alter-ego Superman. There is nothing, or almost nothing (dependent on what the thing in question is), that he will not for anybody -- much less those close to him.

The only other personality I can think of like CK is the other part of the dynamic duo, the other half to his whole. Lois Lane.

So, for me, until I can think of any other adjective that could best describe CK EVEN more, is SofiaK's choice:

SELFLESS.
