Hello dear people of fanpop! i think were all hear because we know Edward Elric is better then Cullen but why? what makes him so much better
*random person*: HE'S EDWARD ELRIC WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?
me: umm okay that was on a Twilight fangirl level so let's see what makes him so much better...
1. Personality: Edward Elric actually HAS ONE! all Cullen does is angst and be the annoying "perfect boy friend" the entire series. Edward Elric: is pretty complex personality wise actually. He can be very angsty at times but he has a very good reason ( unlike Cullen, you've been a vampire for 100 freaking years get over it!). Also another things about Edward ( our Edward i refuse to give Cullen that privledge) isn't afraid to be funny! yup he has gone through hell, much more then Cullen, and yet he smiles and laughs like any person. He also has a short complex which is beyond hilarious to me. SO basically Cullen has zero personality, Elric has one of the bets i've ever seen.
Relationships with other characters: Okay here we go..
Alphonse: Ed's younger brother he literally risked his life to bring back. The relationship between these tow is so heartwarming and touching it's made me teary a few times. These tow show true sibling companionship. Cullen however could practically give a rats ass about his family though, all he cares about his Bella.
Winry: ahh love interest versus love interest here! and guess what the " amazing love story" of Bella and Cullen is nothing compared to Ed and Winry. They've known each other since birth practically and it shows. They've been through each other's deepest horrible pains, Winry's parents getting shot, Ed and Al's mom dying. Edward cares so much for her and it's so incredible ( especially in Brotherhood!) . As for Winry she really cares as well. Cullen and Bella know each other for two seconds and are already in the most Mary/Gary sue romance i've ever seen.
Character development: where to begin? Cullen doesn't change or get any emotional scenes in the series he's just the perfect sparkling vampire. Edward.... wow! he grows up so much in both series. A young teenager or 15 who at the end of the series is 18 and almost in completely different ( but stayed the same where it mattered). He's also not afraid to show emotion he cries a lot and is moved when the moments right. I bet you most twilight fangirls would call that "gay" well you know what....IT'S NOMRAL!! when your mom dies, little brother almost does because of you, and you see a little girl get killed wouldn't you? Cullen isn't special or original at all as a character... Elric blew down walls for me.
What i learned from Ed: Edward Elric is one of if not the most inspiring fictional characters i've very had the pleasure to watch. He taught me about what it means to move forward and be a good person. Also he's not perfect! he's got flaws and admits it.I found myself falling in love with him looks, personality, actions everything! ( sorry if i'm getting to fangirly XD)
He reminds me so much of myself in many ways and not all are serious: i'm shorty myself and Ed showed me to be proud of it!
So in closing; Edward Elric is like a personal hero to me...plus were the ORIGINAL TEAM EDWARD!
