As for the reason behind my picking; although I love Mai as a character I think she'd be a horrible mother to her kids. She doesn't care about anything, not even herself and while some may consider that factor noble, I don't think it's a good quality for children to see in a mother.
Also the only person she ever showed emotion around was Zuko. Imagine having a mother who cared about nobody but her partner. Ouch.

Where is Azula!??! She would get an award for the worst mother. (no offance to Azula fans)

Lin is just too aggressive and would be a horrible role model for little children. My next pick would be Mai.
