"Don't take the easy way out." "Work hard for your dreams." "Don't discount stars or magic though. Sometimes it can be just the push you need." "Focus on what you need, not what you want." "A life without love, joy or fun is an empty one." "Too much work can be just as bad as too much play."
Also: "Don't focus so much on the details of your dream that you forget why you wanted it in the first place." (Tiana focuses so much on just getting the restaurant that she forgets it was supposed to bring loved ones together, and she rejected love and family in pursuit of it. Charlotte focused so much on just becoming a princess that she forgot why she wanted to be one in the first place: to have the kind of love Tiana finds with Naveen.)
All in all, it's a great movie with many layers and lessons, all valid and important.
Snow White- A man is the only thing that matters
Cinderella-sit and wait for things to happen to you (because it TOTALLY helped Anne Frank)
Sleeping Beauty- Token chick!
The Little Mermaid- Sell your voice for a lady part and a man you never met
Beauty and the Beast- he's mopey and emo but I can change him
Aladdin- Love a man who lies to you!
Pocahontas- Take a steaming dump on a genocide
Mulan- War is full of wonderfully hilarious characters and antics
Princess and the Frog- Work hard, and get an Alligator to scare your way into getting what you want
Tangled- (pretty much same as Cinderella)
Brave- "I DON'T WANNA WITHHOLD OF MY RESPONSIBILITIES, I WANNA PLAY WITH MY TOYS INSTEAD!"
Frozen- Fall in love with a man you met that day- OBSURED!
but a DAY IN A HALF
oh yea
they be bumpin uglys tonite
But Belle is the least insulting from a feminist standpoint.
I was just stating Feministic viewpoints on these movies, yes of course they're exaggerated.
Beauty and the Beast for example
A. she only comes around to him when the beast stops being a dick
B. When he lets her go she leaves
Probably wouldn't have come back if it weren't for impending doom.
I agree with your point on Cinderella as well, however, as an adult, I can see why some people may be unhappy with these movies, but with that said, I feel like they're exaggerating, taking it way to seriously.
When was the last time a little girl after watching TLM decided:
YEA ARIEL'S RIGHT!
I'm going to abandon my family so I can meet Justin Bieber.
They're animated movies, they need to calm they're tater tots.
But Merida is the hardest to argue against, I'll say that.
And even if they're right, who cares, they're great movies.
Aladdin is inexplicably racist but I still love the hell out of it.
Point being: I understand your point and I knew that from the very beginning.
I was just making a joke XD
