In both movies the main reason he started doing things was just to help himself and not lose his place as a guardian not minding of Mulan's feelings. (And although he did redeemed himself, it wasn't very nice of him still). I love Chip, he's so cute and he helped Belle and Maurice escape the cellar. posted over a year ago.
