Chris Evans Is the American Style Hero We Deserve

, is currently doing his superhero-actor duty by traveling around the world to promote the new movie. Chris has always been pretty well-dressed, but recently we've noticed that his onscreen role and real-life persona are melding into one. See, Evans is stepping up his game of late—and, at least from where we're sitting, in a distinctly modern American way. U-S-of-A staples like varsity jackets, slim suits (with slim lapels), and high-top sneakers have all become finely tuned weapons in his arsenal. Below are three of Chris's most all-American looks, along with how you can get them for yourself.

Navy blue suits like those worn by J.F.K. are considered the American staple, but these days fashion-forward labels like Calvin Klein and up-and-comers like David Hart are putting out styles in unconventional (and way cooler) colorways. Even old-school tailors like Martin Greenfield are making jackets in out-there hues. And as Evans shows, they're no harder to pull off than stars-and-stripes navy—and they don't even have to be made by an American brand to look like a modern Stateside staple.

The good-looking guy in a leather-sleeve varsity jacket is an iconic American image that's beaten into us since the first day of high school. Hell, Evans himself played that very type in the 2001 classic

. But the more modern version ditches the leather sleeves in favor of luxurious wool, and keeps the preppy details like contrast ribbing.

Hihg-top sneakers have been an American classic since the Chuck Taylor first hit shelves in 1917. Every guy owns a pair, but the new modern and extra-stylish way to wear them is to pick up a pair in suede. As Evans shows, they can even take something as simple as chinos and a crewneck sweater to a level that's slightly more elegant than (but just as American as) a typical casual look.
