Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Divorce: His Immense Fortune and What\'s at Stake

Amber Heard filed for divorce from Johnny Depp on Monday. Now one of Hollywood\'s richest men and his rising-star ex-love face the task of reaching a financial agreement.

Heard, 30, cited irreconcilable differences in her filing and is asking for spousal support from Depp, 52, according to the documents obtained by PEOPLE. The two did not have a prenup, reports TMZ.

Legal experts say Heard may indeed win spousal support, along with her share of the couple\'s joint earnings during the short 15-month duration of the marriage. Meanwhile, the difference between their fortunes is vast.

Depp is one of Hollywood\'s top leading actors. He\'s had numerous high-grossing roles, including the ultra-successful

franchise: He reportedly earned $350 million for the first four films alone. Last year,

rated Depp the 12th-highest paid actor for bringing in $30 million – and that wasn\'t even his most lucrative year to date. The actor earned $100 million in 2010.

While Heard\'s paychecks are lower, she has starred in a handful of successful indie films as well as a few supporting roles in hits such as

. One of her highest-paid movie roles to date is the 2015 film

, for which she was reportedly paid $416,667. Some online reports have estimated her net worth as between $4.5 and 9 million.

The couple lived in Depp\'s L.A. estate – a castle-like 1920s mansion bought in 1995 for $1.89 million and now worth many times that – during their relationship, although the actor also owns a number of properties abroad.

Depp and Heard tied the knot on the actor\'s private island in the Bahamas. He purchased a 45-acre private island in the Bahamas with six beaches for $3.6 million in 2004. He has called the tropical getaway "pure and beautiful," and the pair wed there in February 2015 after legally tying the knot in the States.

In addition, Depp reportedly outbid an Arab prince to pay $13.4 million for a 17th century palazzo overlooking the Grand Canal in Venice, falling in love with the property after filming

In 2015, Depp sold his $33 million yacht, which he purchased in 2007.

He also owns a 37-acre estate near St. Tropez in 2001. Last year, he put the 12-bedroom, 12-bathroom home up for sale for $27 million but has reportedly since taken it off the market. Depp, along with his then-partner Vanessa Paradis and their children, Lily-Rose and Jack, spent many summers in the house.
