Maya the Bee Question

Theory: How old is Maya?

When I was editing on the Maya the Bee wiki on Fandom, some of the fans are discussing about Maya's age. So far, there's no official confirmation on how old Maya is. According on her biography, she was between 7-12 years old, although some people stated she is younger than that and there's a few reasons for that:

1. Her birthday is unknown and there been dicuss on what year she born in. Luckily, according on the official Instagram post from Studio 100, her birthday turns out it was on 21 March.

2. Continuity of the series and movies: Episode 1 - she was born in the hive alongside with her boyfriend, Willy.
And there is a birthday episode: Episode 53 - Bee Day, which revealed that she is 1 year old.
In the season 2, she is 10 years old, although some debated she is younger than that.
And finally in the movies: she was 12 in the Honey Games and the Golden Orb.

Interesting question, but like what you have said, there's no official confirmation on how old is she which the same goes for the other characters too. About the official date of her birthday, I think this might only apply for either the 2012 series or the movies, not sure about her date of birthday in the 1975 series though. Now as for your theory of her age in the continuity of both 2012 series and movies, yes, I know about the episode "Bee Day", but if she was really revealed to be 1 years old in that episode, how the events of the other episodes of Season 1 works and if she is 10 years old in Season 2, how did she suddenly grew up that faster? Also, the problem with that theory is that you seem to follow about the 2012 series and the movies by taking place in the same universe which is not true, because if you re-watch the first movie, you will see that it have its own timeline and that it have a different birth scene of Maya and how she and Willy met and that the movie didn't state that Willy was born on the same day as her like in the 2012 series and yes, I'm one of the people who considered the 2012 series and the movies as two separate entities despite they were both made by Studio 100. Now, if only this question is only debated from the Studio 100 franchise, what about the ages of characters as seen in other versions of the story like the 1975 series or the original book? From what I know, one of the characters who have an age difference between various version is Cassandra. In the original book, she was described as an elderly bee who is probably around her 60's to 80's years old, while in the 1975 series and the whole Studio 100 series, she was made much younger than she was in the original book, but in the 1975 series, she is probably around her 40's to 50's, while in the Studio 100 series, she seemed more like in her 20's to 30's as she looked much younger comparing to her Nippon Animation incarnation, but that's my theory about Cassandra's age. To end this discussion, there is something I wanted to say about this age debate that it can get a little tiresome, as this kind of question was asked in other fanbases too like Pokémon for example as I have seen so many Pokémon fans keep asking about Ash's age which I'm too tired of it as it was stated many times that he is 10 years old and that people need to know that there are lot of cartoons and anime where characters haven't aged for a long time, but speculating about their ages is okay though. Thank you for sharing this question and I also hope we see Maya, Willy and others growing up somewhere in the future if Studio 100 decides to actually age them up.
