In March 1994 Buzz entered Lucy into the Spring Fiesta Day Queen contest on Fifth Street. Though Lucy plays it off as unimportant, as something she is just doing to please her father…she secret desires to win. This particularly troubles Frank since he entered Julie (who was trying to drive a wedge between him and Eleni) into the contest as well. Though Frank says he never would have entered Julie had he known Buzz was entering his own sister Buzz simply tells him, “It’s always been a Cooper to wear that crown. And it always will.” Famous last words Buzz.

***A Wedding and a long awaited fit ! – Feb-May 96***

A-M and Luce are sitting in the Emergency room. A-M’s arm has been cleaned and bandaged. Lucy is still looking concerned. Uncle Ed comes back in.

L — Is he is going to be all right ?

A-M — That is the fifth time you’ve asked.

Ed — And you can ask another five times and I will still say the same thing yes…

Alan –( Comes in ) Is he going to be all right Ed ? (Laughing)

A-M– Sorry Ed !

Ed– I think so yes… I have cleaned out the wound on his arm. I have given him a couple of pints of blood and an antibiotic. So barring some unforeseen...

Susan — Ohhh where is Lucy ? I thought she would be here by now…

Nick — Unless Marian.

Susan– Unless nothing ! Marian is in jail by now I know she is.

Nick– I wish we knew that for sure.

Cut to A-M walking up the hall…he almost bumps into a nurse and apologizes. He looks like hell. He is barely together, but knows he has got to tell SNICK about the Luce.

A-M –(takes a deep breath before he enters ) Hey !

SNICK– HEY !!

A-M– I came as soon as I found out. (A-M hugs and kisses Susan) Welcome back to us ! How are you ?

Susan– I’m good…how are you…Boss ?

N– What’s going on ?...

While LAM are blissful loving each other at their cabin hide away….. Maid Marian has been having a busy weekend as well. Frank and partner Nell have been keeping an eye on her ever since the dockside murder. They tell Detective Cutter that they think Marian is the one that killed Lucky….maybe in self defense…..because they found Auburn mist hair in his fist…..It is hair from a wig…..and…Marian wears a red auburn mist wig..the exact same shade ! She was raped before and Lucy lives close to where he was murdered…..it all adds up !

So Cutter keeps in eye on Marian by dating her !...

Hey, it took three years, fifteen days and four hours to get to this point in their relationship.

A-M is simply beaming at work ! He has been around Luce all day bumping into her in the file room…standing by her desk grinning….He asks her to come to the country club that evening for dinner. He has something special planned. When they arrive on the terrace at the Country Club. They are met by Nick and Susan.

Nick– Lucy, A-M what a surprise !

Lucy– Well he is full of surprises today.

A-M– You haven’t seen anything yet ! Hi Susan you look nice.

Susan –Thanks so do you guys.

Lucy meets a woman at the Journal upset because she has just spoken to Nick about a job and can not get one. She tells Lucy that she is a good writer but can not get a job any where because she is HIV positive. So Lucy brings “Susan” back to Spaulding begging A-M to give her a job. A-M agrees to read her resumé but will only hire her if she is GOOD for Spaulding. After reading it over and meeting her he hires her. .

Susan is the second new employee hired at Spaulding today . The other employee is an older conservatively dressed woman named “Marian Crane”.

Brent– Nice job today Marian....

Brent is back with a vengeance ! Sending him to Seattle was too easy. He has kidnapped Tangie and made her write a story for the Journal. It tells how Alan hired him to help throw his own son out of the Company. A-M confronts his father saying “The Spauldings make the Medici’s look like the Brady Bunch !!!” Alan of COURSE claims he is the innocent, misunderstood. Lucy heads to the Yacht to see how A-M is. While standing at the docks a fear she is being followed starts to over take her. A-M approaches from behind and she jumps.

A-M — are you OK ?

L — No I’m not OK !

A-M — Come on...

Lucy and A-M drive back to Spaulding. A-M can not help but notice the changes in her. My god she is so beautiful, so very brave. She smiles back at him as they enter the elevators. Going into his office he is greeted warmly by Alan and Alex. Both inquiring where he has been. Rather like a child that has skipped school. Lucy looks down feeling guilty for having kept him away from his work. A-M reassuringly touches her shoulder, turns towards her, shielding her from them. “I left a message with the temp didn’t you get it ? “

Alan — Well yes, but it didn’t tell us much. I am sure you...

Lucy goes to the diner to get some coffee before work. Buzz is running all over getting stuff around for the Fifth Street ball. Lucy is moving so slowly. Everything around her seems dream like. Only loud noises or fast movement seem to bring her out of her state. But when that happens she is frightened. Eleni knows there is something VERY wrong, but Lucy leaves before Eleni has a chance to speak to her. When Lucy gets to her desk there is a huge bouquet of flowers from Brent. She reaches for the card with a shaking hand. You can see how fast she is breathing. Suddenly A-M comes up behind her....

A-M has been summoned to Spaulding by Lucy. She is in the middle of a huge crisis. Alex was supposed to finalize the Diamond Tool contract today. They want the finalized numbers and Luce has stalled them as long as she can ! Nick says “Look I am done with Spaulding I know nothing about the Diamond Tool contract….. I’m out of here !” A-M gets out of the elevator as Nick goes in. A-M tells Lucy he has washed his hands of EVERYTHING Spaulding. Lucy says “Fine then I’ll do it myself ! ” A-M feeling sorry for her helps her get the bid. They celebrate in Alex’s office drinking champagne...

In the coming weeks viewers got to see Frank and Eleni renew their wedding vows and of all things, Lucy apologizing to Eleni for not being more SUPPORTIVE of her during her separation from Frank. But she was just so immature and JEALOUS. Lucy was being treated like all she EVER felt for A-M was a friendship. HE broke her heart, but he certainly had help. Where was Eleni’s apology to Lucy? Lucy begged Eleni many times to leave A-M alone……. but then Lucy was just 21 what did she know of love ?

To top that off TPTB were now looking for a “super couple”. Obvious choice Marcy Walker and...

While A-M was busy losing EVERYTHING he held dear……… Eleni’s life was not going swimmingly either ! There had been numerous strange occurrences at the Cooper household ! Julie has become the “nanny from hell”. Flouncing around in flimsy lingerie. Putting Eleni down whenever possible. But it would be too easy to blame the problems the Coopers are having all on Julie ! Eleni has her hands full with a man that is jealous of her success. Instead of encouraging her, Frank routinely makes Eleni feel bad for the hours she works. Yup Eleni is inferior in so many ways !

So now A-M and Lucy continue to work together and date. But the make-out sessions have come to a complete HALT! A-M has suddenly become so gentlemanly with her. Lucy on the other hand would REALLY like to go the next step in their relationship and is not sure how to go about it.

Aunt Alex agrees to give A-M the Spaulding Presidency. Nicky decides he will marry Melinda in a SURPRISE ceremony. Aunt Alex being the huge supporter of that union is told five minutes before that ceremony takes place ! A-M is busy setting up...

A-M comes back to the room and Lucy has on her beautiful black silk dress. A-M had ordered it from his mother’s favorite designer. He has also ordered her a coat and some beautiful lingerie to sleep in as well. When the bus boy brings the items to the suite A-M happily tells Lucy she can pick whatever she wants. Lucy just tells him no. He was so excited and happy to spoil her. Now he tips the bell boy and asks him to return the other items. When he turns and looks at Lucy you can see he is CRUSHED.
