My studio spy’s are telling me that my friend and writing mentor Randy Jernigan has been asked by a studio head to script an unaltered version of the story of Mormonism. This rumor rings true to me. I know of Randy’s tumultuous relationship with the LDS faith which he once served as a historian for and which he resigned his membership claiming the organization was cultish.
My studio source also says that actor Timothy Chalamet will be offered the part as young Joseph. If correct, that’s excellent casting.
I’ve tried to contact Randy for a comment but haven’t reached him. His personal rep, Jeanette Wells, explained she would not comment on such matters.
Three years ago Randy was forced into an early retirement after suffering several heart attacks and renal failure.
Whatever the truth is, I wish Randy all the best.

Sad news has hit the creative writing community as celebrity biographer and creative writing coach Randy Jernigan has recently declared his retirement from the writing and publishing world following a deterioration in his health as a result of kidney failure and Heart Disease. The Losing to Win author told me of his decision to retire over a phone call I made to him about a writing project offer.
