Novels-wise, does anyone feel that Damon's true self comes out naturally when he is with Bonnie, whereas when he's with Elena, I feel like he is "forcing" his personality? I just feel like he can be totally open and be himself around Bonnie without even trying. This is the problem for Delena, whether it's the novels and the TV show. Fellow DB'ers, I honestly don't believe that the Delena fanbase is as ;arge as they make themselves out to be. They keep claiming that they are 75% of the TVD fans population, but in reality, I think that they are the minority. They make themselves "seem" like the majority through their actions (constantly trying to trend Delena on Twitter, voting obsessively on polls etc). Regarding the 2x17 Damon/Bonnie/Jeremy interaction, is anyone noticing that Bonnie happens to be with the two guys that she "judges" the most? Bonnie judged her relationship with Jeremy because he is Elena's younger brother, and Bonnie judges Damon because he is a vampire and vampires and witches are known to be natural enemies. on the recurring subject of Twin Flames, a random thought: it's common belief that when you are about meeting your Twin Flame, you feel like a great change is in the air. I don't think L.J. Smith was fired. I personally think that L.J. Smith quit. I think she felt incredibly overwhelmed and stifled because of the Delena fanbase, and therefore, she succumbed to the pressure and couldn't handle it. Also, it was clear with the publishers that L.J. couldn't handle the job because she was trying to desperately please Delena fans because of guilt and the publishers realized she was destroying her story in the process. In regards to Book Bamon (and yes, even show Bamon), I have always believed that while Elena certainly helped Damon on his spiritual journey, Bonnie was Damon's spiritual awakening. I mean, his wake up call to learning about love and compassion didn't just come out of nowhere. So IMO, Damon developed feelings for Elena because of Bonnie. Because Bonnie was the one to awaken Damon and slowly reveal these feelings of love and compassion for others. Posted over a year ago
